This ain't over
It looks like the heat's going to stay on Sinclair Broadcast Group for a while now, over their refusal to air tonight's Nightline. The show is airing as I write this... for those that don't know, Koppel is reading a list of American soldiers killed in Iraq, accompanied by their photos. Some have accused ABC of pulling a ratings stunt... I doubt it, but that's not the big controversy. Sinclair, which owns 8 ABC stations, feels an anti-war agenda is behind Nightline's sepcial broadcast. How anybody could think that is beyond me, but then, I have about a thousand times the respect for Ted Koppel that I do for the Bill O'Reilly wannabe, Sinclair's Mark Hyman, who does right-wing editorials nightly on Sinclair's "NewsCentral". (That's a story in itself.)
