Houston, we have a problem

I wrote the below post a week ago, and have spent the days since then trying to get the damn thing to publish. If anyone else is having troubles with Blogger's interface, drop me a line... I smell a story.

Suffering psyche! Suffering psyche!

A moment of silence, if you will, for long-time Canadian broadcaster Jimmy Tapp, who died over the weekend. He will, of course, be best remembered as the voice of The Mighty Hercules.

Stop the insanity

I'm frankly glad I don't have to rely solely on US TV networks. The way things are going, there'll be nothing left but Mr. Rogers repeats in a year. People are incredible, uptight idiots. THEY ONLY SHOWED HER BACK. There was more skin in a Camay commercial that aired during Scrubs tonight.

Commence the jigglin'!

Canadian animation network Teletoon has launced a website for its adult animation block, The Detour. Nice to see them putting an effort into marketing this stuff.

Even though they only have thirteen episodes of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force."

And even though they air "The Brak Show" despite the fact neither "Space Ghost: Coast 2 Coast" nor "Cartoon Planet" has ever been seen in Canada.

Cut off from the world

Actually, it's not like I ever get e-mails anyway. But wouldn't you know it, I put all my eggs in Google's Gmail basket and now I can't get into it. The service, which is still in Beta mode, is down for some reason.

No one will mourn

I have flushed "Franklin's Quandary" down the proverbial crapper, and eradicated all trace of its existence. It's not that I had written myself into a corner. Oh, no, I had the plot carefully mapped out. However, I cannot write dialogue to save my life. And, since a novel with no dialogue would have been rather unfeasible, I decided to torpedo the whole thing. That's that.

Told ya

By the way, may I present Chapter Four of Franklin's Quandary. The offers are already coming in.

That's it... I'm going to bed

This is over. Bush has won it, he's won Ohio, although most networks won't draw that conclusion yet. I don't think there will be a protracted legal battle here, either... the margin will be just great enough.

As for the coverage, Dan Rather's giving us a repeat performance of 2000; Larry King's adding little to CNN except to insert his "everyman" questioning of the other commentators, and sound like a total ignoramus in the process. I'm pleasantly surprised by the Fox Broadcasting coverage (I can't see Fox News Channel where I am.) Shepard Smith is quite charismatic, and I forsee a future for this guy at a more legitimate news organization.
