It's what you wanna hear

According to this article, the operators of Canadian Radio Shack stores may have to change their names at the end of June. Who are the operators, you ask? Why, Circuit City!!! Didn't you know??

Preachy ads

You know, it's bad enough to get preached at in television public service announcements (remember the drunk driving spot that ended, "Better to be preached at than preached over"?) ... but the commercials for these guys really take the cake. They actually try to shame you into taking your car there. If you've never seen the spots, their site will give you the gist of them.

Rest in peace, Morty

Eat a plum for me. And take heart in knowing you outlived Jack Klompus.

More pruning

The pop-ups came back... so this time, TagBoard's getting the boot. Who needs it anyway? Huh?

Old-timey radio fun

Ol' Milt must have let his beer-swilling nephew Clovis Bradley take a crack at inventing a board game: 1922 Radio Game

?SN ERROR

Regrets

I apologize for the popups that have suddenly been, well, popping up. I'm not sure who the culprit is (it shouldn't be my web host)... but just for fun, I've replaced the GoStats counter with a BraveNet one. If the popups go bye-bye, then GoStats is GoneStats.

Pointless logo change

For many years, the Choice Hotels group had a neat matrix with the logos of all its different chains. Each of the four main brands had a similar logo. Then, they started mucking around with them. Finally, the last holdout has cracked. Comfort Inn, the flagship brand, has a new logo. (Actually, I lied: Clarion still has its original logo. But how often do you see one of those?

What about that guy? What about that watch?

The Fox series Arrested Development may not be long for this world, but if you missed tonight's episode, hopefully it'll get rerun so you can see the celebrity cameo that made it worthwhile.

Have you all left yet?

It's been a while... the last post I tried to make, the Blogger software coughed and sputtered and generally behaved like an ass. Anyhoo, just to remind you of what this blog's all about,
here's a link that's been linked and MeFi'd and promoted to death.

And I promise to be here more often, occasionally with real content.

Prolonged, unexplained absence

Huh? Where am I? Anyway, as I was saying, the latest edition of Wired contains a great article about Wikipedia. More to say later... right now, I have to watch the premiere of Law and Order: Trial By Jury.
